FAQ's

How often should my child attend swimming lessons?

Normally parents only bring their child once a week, although bringing your child more than this will ultimately improve your child’s progression. The key element for improving your child’s ability in the water is continuity, it is a learning skill that needs to be followed through on a weekly basis all year round.

How long does it take to learn to swim?

This is a very difficult question to answer. All children are different and learn at different stages. There are factors that need to be taken into consideration for example, the age of the child, their physical build or capabilities and their past experiences.

At swimAway we aim to progress your child to the next skill based level in one term of swimming.

What should I bring to swimming lessons?

It is important for children to wear correct swimming attire. This includes swimming costume, goggles and swimming caps for children over the age of 3. For those children who are not toilet trained an Aqua nappy is essential.

What are the benefits from swimming through winter?

The importance of involving your child in learn to swim all year round is critical to their learning of skills in the water. Learning the skills needed to be safe in and around the water is continuous education that needs to be followed through even in the colder months. You will notice the improvement of your child’s progression if they are learning continuously throughout the year. Our centre is heated in the colder months and the pool temp will be kept at 32C all year round.
